What is 3D printing?
3D printer, also known as a three-dimensional printer, which was invented by Italian inventor Enrico Dini, 3D printer through the use of 3D-aided design software, engineers in the design of a model or prototype, the use of powdered metal or plastic, and other bondable materials, by way of layer-by-layer printing to construct objects of technology, 3D printer has also become a must-have for many creative spaces 3D printers have become a must-have for many maker spaces.
With a 3D printer, you can turn any idea in your head into a physical object, using only materials like rubber and plastic. In principle, a 3D printer can print a car, a house, or even an arm on your body. 3D printing technology is driving the third industrial revolution along with other digital production models. Whatever you think of, just make it in 3D software and feed it into a 3D printer to turn it into a physical object.
Materials used for 3D printing
3D printing materials are an important material basis for the development of 3D printing technology, and to some extent, the development of 3D printing materials determines whether 3D printing can be more widely used. At present, 3D printing materials mainly include engineering plastics, photosensitive resins, rubber-like materials, metal materials, and ceramic materials, in addition to colored plaster materials, artificial bone powder, cellular biological materials, and sugar and other food materials have also been used in the field of 3D printing. 3D printing of these raw materials are specifically developed for 3D printing equipment and processes, and ordinary plastic, plaster, resin The form of these raw materials are generally powdered, filamentous, laminated, liquid, etc. Usually, depending on the type of printing equipment and operating conditions, the particle size of the powdered 3D printing materials used varies from 1 to 100 μm, and to maintain good fluidity, the powder is generally required to have high sphericity.
The technical principle of 3D printing
Through the understanding of 3D printing technology, we know that it is not complicated, and its operation principle is the same as that of traditional printers. A traditional printer is a digital file that is sent to an inkjet printer by tapping the print button on the computer screen, which sprays a layer of ink onto the surface of the paper to form a two-dimensional image. The 3D printer first converts the item into a set of 3D data, and then the printer begins to slice and dice, layer by layer, for each layer of the slit build, printing by layer.
When the 3D printing printer is working, powder supplies are printed layer by layer, and the layers are bonded to each other by a special glue, and the pattern is fixed according to the cross-section, and finally, the layers are stacked up, just like the procedure when we sit at the beach and build a castle with sand, and finally, after printing in layers, bonding layers, and stacking layer by layer, a complete item will be presented in front of our eyes. 3D The biggest difference between a printer and a traditional printer is that the ink it uses is the actual raw material.
